Hospitalist EMO is a comprehensive physician-owned practice management group with roots that reach back into the late 1990’s with a hybrid emergency medicine/in-patient care service for a community hospital. Our original hospitalists were dual trained Internal Medicine/Emergency Medicine physicians who would finish an shift in the Emergency Department and go to the floor to round on patients for busy office-based physicians. The physicians were in tune to pleasing the medical staff as well as continuity of care for the patient. Within a few years, we started dedicated hospitalist programs.

Our group understands the fine line that our hospitalists must walk in meeting the needs of a busy emergency department, over-burdened primary care physicians, diversified medical staffs and hospital administration. We have lived in that world through our sister organization (Emergency Medical Associates) since 1978. Hospitalist EMO leadership has applied that knowledge to hospitalist medicine in a more intense effort since 2001.
